My principal place of residence is in the Pōneke/Wellington General Constituency area.
With a background in engineering, education and public health, I have a proven record in governance and representation. A city councillor for four terms, and Deputy Mayor from 2019-2022, I’ve served on the Regional Transport Committee and chaired the Grants and Regulatory Processes Committees. I’ve worked collaboratively to deliver much needed investment in city infrastructure and constantly advocated for improved transport choices, including better walking, bus lanes and new residents parking.
If elected, I’ll be an independent, principled and pragmatic champion for Wellington in the region. I will advocate for accountability and value for regional rates; investment to guarantee water quality, improve resilience and environmental well-being; and value-for-money improvements to our bus network city-wide, including better real-time information, bus priority and express buses. Wellington City bus users pay higher fares than others for similar distances travelled, and affordability needs addressing.
